How to Become a Member of SFNC

Dear Prospective Member,

Shiba Inu Fanciers of Northern California would like to thank you for applying for membership in our club. The SFNC is a nonprofit club formed by a group of fanciers to help provide education and social interaction between people who love the breed. The Club plans to hold American Kennel Club sanctioned Fun Matches with an eye toward eventually holding independent specialties. SFNC also holds an annual picnic for all shiba lovers in the northern California area.
Before filling out the application, please take a few minutes to consider the type of membership that might suit your level of interest.

Associate Membership: For those who do not want to attend business meetings or put in the hours of work necessary to make a club like this successful, but would like more information on the Shiba Inu and to participate in the social activities. This is a non-voting membership, but all other privileges apply. You can still attend meetings if you wish, but your membership, would not have to be counted in establishing a quorum.

Full/Single Membership: This level allows total participation including voting privileges. It also implies a responsibility to help work for the club and become an active member.

Full/Family Membership: Two adults, living in the same household, over 18yrs of age. Full voting privileges. It also implies a responsibility to help work for the club and become an active member.

Junior Membership: For people under 18 years of age who wish to be involved with the Shiba Inu. It is a nonvoting membership. Adult members of the family need not be members. Upon request, a full or associate membership can be granted to a Junior Member after 18 years of age without submission of a new application.

After deciding which type of membership you desire, please read and sign the Code of Ethics and return with your application. In order to obtain the necessary number of sponsor's signatures, it is recommended that you attend the next meeting or event and introduce yourself to us. Please check our calendar for our next scheduled event or meeting. When application is complete, return a signed copy of your membership application and keep a copy for your records. Please remember what the Code of Ethics includes when you are enjoying your own dog or dealing with others.

The Code of Ethics and Membership application are available in PDF format. To view and print out these documents, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader which you can download at no cost from the Adobe website.

Please make your check payable to SFNC. Your check, application, and signed Code of Ethics may be sent to the Membership Chairman:
